We are so excited to share that we exceeded our fundraising goal again this year, raising more than $26,000 at the annual Bash to help support breastfeeding moms and babies and programs for new families in the community.
“The moms and babies in our community rely on this funding source for breastfeeding and parenting support,” said Colette Acker, executive director.
The event, which took place Oct. 6, 2017 at the Abington Art Center, celebrated 14 years of the BRC’s success.
The nonprofit organization is helping thousands of families to breastfeed longer and all proceeds from the Bash go to funding the center’s mission.
This year, the event featured a live and silent auction and raffle items, including Eagles box seats, park passes to Disney World and more.
Guests who purchased VIP tickets attended a meet and greet with current Abington Art Center exhibiting local fiber artist Teresa Shields.
Yards Brewing Company generously donated beer and a nationally-distributed California winery provided wine for the event as well as raffle items.
More than 150 people purchased tickets to fund another year of support groups for new parents, expert lactation consultations for families whose insurance doesn’t cover visits and back to work support for breastfeeding moms.
