On Friday, August, 3rd, the Breastfeeding Resource Center hosted 26 participants of the Global Big Latch On, an international event aimed to strengthen national and global support for breastfeeding. The participating families at each of the BRC locations enjoyed a brief support group before joining their global peers in a worldwide latch on at 10:30am.

From the Global Big Latch On website:
“Global Big Latch On events are highly successful, targeted community development initiatives that raise awareness of breastfeeding, encourage the formation of support networks between breastfeeding persons, and aim to normalize breastfeeding as a part of daily life.”
This event takes place annually during World Breastfeeding Week, and had an impressive 18,036 participants at 725 locations in 2017.
The week of events continues with a Facebook Live event, hosted by the BRC, on Wednesday, August 7th at 12pm. We’ll have a panel of experts, including a neonatologist, a pediatrician, IBCLCs, and breastfeeding counselors, available to answer your questions. For more information and to join the event, visit the Breastfeeding Resource Center on Facebook and click on their events.
The Breastfeeding Resource Center is proud to support World Breastfeeding Week’s global initiative to inform people about the positive impact that breastfeeding has on mothers, children, and our community.
