This class is for those caregivers who have already been wearing their babies for several months and are ready to get their baby onto their back in order to get more work done! This class is appropriate for the experienced babywearer, and children must be at least 6 months of age (I prefer older than 8 months) to attend the class and go onto your back. There will be a brief overview of the five main types of carriers, and I will address the common safety concerns of babywearing – especially those that pertain to back carries. You are encouraged to bring your own carrier – even if you think you can’t use it for a back carry. There will be a library of carriers for you to try, and some carriers available for purchase at a fair price during the class. The carries taught during this class will be taught based on the makeup of the class, and carriers that caregivers already use or would like to use. Some common carries that we will cover are the rucksack and double hammock with a woven, front-to-back with a ring sling or a pouch sling, and back carries with a Bei-Dai/Meh–Dai (Formerly known as the Mei-Tai), a soft-structured carrier (ie: Ergo, Tula, etc), and an Onbuhimo.
