Did you know breastfeeding mothers have increased risk of developing carpel tunnel syndrome and tendonitis due to repetitive wrist motions? And that back pain is very common for new mothers? Are you having some pain? Are you having difficulty managing baby’s car seat, baby bag and everything else…just to get out of the door! Through discussion and modeling, this course will cover proper body mechanics and energy conservation techniques to prevent injury and address pain during breastfeeding, diaper changing, lifting, and other daily activities of motherhood.
Salus University Occupational Therapy students, under the direction of Drs. Lauren Sponseller and Caitlin Foy, will be facilitating this workshop. In addition, they will be available for one-on-one screening appointments before the workshops, from 10:30am – 1:30pm.
All Salus University workshops and screenings are FREE and NO REGISTRATION is required.
