Having a baby is a life changing event, whether it’s your first or your fifth! Come learn about the emotional changes and challenges that can come along with having a new baby, how to cope with these challenges, and how to know when it’s time to reach out for more support.

Discussion topics will include, but are not limited to: symptoms of postpartum depression, anxiety, sleep, relationship with significant other, self-care, expectations versus reality of motherhood and what to embrace and avoid.

Julia Ruane, LCSW has been working in the field of behavioral health for 15 years. Julia serves as a Behavioral Health Consultant in a primary care clinic in Philadelphia, along with operating a part-time private practice. Julia specializes in maternal mental health, covering the pre, peri and postpartum periods. She has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as a certification in Positive Psychology. Julia lives locally in Glenside, and is a mom to 2 small children. She is passionate about working with new and veteran parents to help them navigate the many challenges of child-rearing across the lifespan.
